About the Dentist

Dr. Crisler is an Anderson, Indiana native. He graduated from Indiana University in 1973 and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1977 from Indiana University School of Dentistry. He worked on the staff of Project Concern International as a dentist in Window Rock, Arizona in 1977 and 1978. He served as a dental officer with the U.S. Public Health Service, Indian Health Service in Navajo, New Mexico on the Navajo Reservation from 1978 until 1980. In 1980, he and his wife, Susan, moved to Rio Rancho to live, to establish a dental practice, and to raise a family. The Crislers have two children, Anne and Timothy. Together they enjoy hiking, camping and traveling. Other activities include computers, running, basketball, and cross country and downhill skiing. Dr. Crisler and his son were active in the Boy Scouts of America, and both have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.

Dr. Crisler has appeared in the past on TV educating the public on current issues in dentistry. He is a founding member of the Southwest Academy of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, and he is also a founding member of the New Mexico Dental Implant Study Club. These study groups of dentists meets several times each year. They network information and discuss clinical dentistry cases before treating patients in a multiple-doctor environment to achieve the best possible results.  Cosmetic dentistry and implant dentistry are important parts of the comprehensive dentistry that our practice offers. Dr. Crisler earned the Academy of General Dentistry's Mastership Award in 1996. The Academy of General Dentistry is a group of 35,000 dentists in the United States and Canada who are committed to continuing dental education. The prestigious Mastership Award requires that the dentist first earn the Academy's Fellowship Award by attending 500 hours of continuing dental education and passing an all day written examination over clinical dentistry. An additional 600 hours of hands-on participation hours in the various disciplines of dentistry are also required for the Mastership Award.

Dr. Crisler recently completed Level 4 studies with Orognathic Bioesthetics International.  This three year program teaches dentists and auxiliaries to help patients achieve ideal biologic form that results in beauty, function, comfort, and longevity www.bioesthetics.com
